Comparing family and friends to the Thanksgiving Day meal

A side dish of relational insight regarding those who are a part of our lives. Come on, you know these things are true about them…and the rest of us too!

Turkeys: We all have these people in our lives. God bless their little hearts, even when they tend to make us tired.

Stuffing: We usually get way too much of them…but, that’s okay because they are so good and you can’t get enough of them.

Bread: These folks always rise to the occasion even though you might need to butter them up once in a while.

Mashed potatoes: While it may seem like these spuds simply take up room, they actually are easy to take in.

Pumpkin pie: When you are with these people the time is sweet and is a little slice of heaven.

Cranberry sauce: You relish your time with these colorful comrades, even when they might come across as a bit sour or tart.

Sweet potatoes and green bean casserole: These are the “complicated” relationships where you are a little unsure as to what to expect, especially at first glance. However, you are pleasantly surprised once you eventually get to know them.

While family and friends can give you a little heartburn along the way, that’s okay. At the end of the day, they add so much to your plate and always make your life full. For that, and for them, we remember and give thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

God bless,
Will Hoyler
