A Christian, From Indiana, Easter, and [True] Freedom

Wrestling with my thoughts…
Can I be completely transparent with you? As a Christian, from Indiana, my heart has been saddened by what I have heard and read this week in regards to religious freedom. Now, none of this should come as a surprise or a shock, as these things [according to God’s Word], are to be expected. God is still on His throne and in control of it all. Still…

But to be honest, I truly have “wrestled with my thoughts,” feelings, and emotions, over and over, regarding how best to processes all of this.

As we discuss and debate “freedoms” in our country, I am reminded that the freedom that Jesus offers [to all] is so much greater, more powerful, and more important than any governmental-given freedom.  In the end, those “freedoms” will not last. However, the freedom that only Jesus offers lasts an eternity.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6

Jesus, alone. THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. Singular. Period. No other god. No other prophet. No other philosophy. No other plan. No other way in order to obtain forgiveness of sins and gain eternal life. It’s all about Jesus.

I know that this is not a popular message in today’s politically correct and “everybody wins” culture.  But, Jesus said it, lived it, died for it, and proved it. He loved all and died for all in order to pay for the sins of all in order to provide a saving eternity for all. — THIS is what Easter is all about!

Jesus loves you. Do you really know this and understand what He did…for you? For me? For all? He doesn’t want to change your t-shirt, your hairstyle, your tattoos, your breakfast cereal choice, or your political party.

However, He does want to change your heart, your soul, and your eternal destination. Yet, He never forces Himself on others; but, He waits with His arms wide open (as on the cross)…waiting…for you, for me, for all, to believe.

So, what is keeping you from believing and accepting this eternal freedom today? I highly encourage you to investigate more about Jesus and what only He can offer you.  You can read the rest of the story HERE.

He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” – Jim Elliott, missionary to Ecuador
